My experience of leading a publicly quoted wine business ensures that first and foremost I assess the commercial issues relating to any wine opportunity. In a chronically oversupplied marketplace, it is increasingly difficult to make a good return on any wine investment – be that as a producer, importer or retailer – hence my experience of working overseas in a variety of different markets ensures that I will always assess each opportunity with a ‘fresh pair of eyes’.

I fully understand the need for robust business processes, a great product USP, innovation and above all a great tasting wine that if lucky enough to be chosen, will provide genuine pleasure.

Having run my own business successfully for the last 10 years, I approach each case as though spending my own money, and will not engage with anyone unless I can genuinely ‘add value’ and can make a significant impact on their business.

 

 

 

Clients

  • Retail – Co-op DK: established an incentive store manager incentive program that help develop the South African category from 2,000 to 150,000+ cases within 3 years.
  • Wholesale – 3663: helped establish the 3663/ Bidvest wine portfolio prior to development of the ViVAS business solution.
  • Restaurants – PizzaExpress : improved participation, increased profitability.
  • Private Clients / Direct sales – 1876 Wines: established Jamaica’s first dedicated fine wine importer from scratch in 1995, beginning with private clients and extending to a full wholesale on-trade business.
